After baking quite a few sourdough loaves and some successful experiments (as well as the occasional disaster), I wanted to try something new. I came across a recipe for Sourdough Brioche on the Sourdough Companion and thought I'd give it a try.
This week we met up with some friends who are visiting the UK for the Olympics. Their criteria for a restaurant were that it be cheap, central but good, so I suggested Dishoom in Covent Garden.
Today, hopeful of a bit more sun, we decided to do a summery Sunday lunch rather than a trad roast for friends. Predictably, the rain came down, but the food still tasted light and bright, a bit of sunshine in the gloom.
One of my favourite ways to start the morning in the summer (especially when it's so depressingly soggy) is with a quick fruit smoothie.
